We’ve all tried different diets and methods that leave us constantly fantasizing about whatever we are depriving ourselves of. Here are some helpful tips for how to implement healthy habits into your life without having them take over your life.
RESEARCH WHAT YOU’RE CONSUMING
Read nutrition labels, research and be aware of what you’re putting in your body. There are blogs, there are youtube channels, books. Everything is available right at your fingertips.
DO NOT CUT OUT YOUR FAVOURITE FOODS COMPLETELY
Your body craves something more if you totally cut out a certain food item that you love from a diet. You will find your brain constantly thinking about what you’re not supposed to think about. So, what you can do is switch to a healthier alternative of the same food item.
DRINK WATER BEFORE MEALS
Drinking water after your meals is very bad for your metabolism, so you should always drink ton of water before your meals. This will make you feel fuller intending to you eating less thus, avoiding over eating.
PLAN OUT YOUR MEALS
Create a grocery shopping list and stick to buying that. Throw away all the packaged food from your house and start maintaining a food journal. You can also apps where you can log on your meals through the day and know the nutrition that you’re consuming, like BOLTT. Download here
INCREASE YOUR ACTIVITY WITHOUT PRESSURE
Increase your daily activity, even if its not exercise. Start with making little changes in your routine like walking for your office meetings, taking small walk breaks in working hours, getting down one station before your office and walk.
I am the QUEEN of making excuses as to why I literally just CAN’T EVEN exercise. Though, I have been getting into a healthy routine lately. I have downloaded this app, BOLTT and it helps me plan my meals and give me customised exercises depending on how much time I have before work.
